White Bread

in 2 cup measuring put:

  • 1 tbsp of yeast
  • add tbsp of white sugar
  • add1 cup hot water
  • let sit for 10 min or so till proofs or rises 
  • in bread maker container put:
  • 2 tbsp crisco shortening
  • 1/4 cup white sugar (sub 1/4 cup maple syrup for Maple bread, 1/4 brown sugar also works)
  • 2 2/3 cup white flour (Aunt Janet uses best for bread flour)
  • 1 tablespoon skim milk powder
    when yeast has risen add to container and start bread maker
  • let it knead the bread and then sit until you hear it remix
  • when the bread dough has risen take out of bread maker pan
  • spray bread pan with pam and knead briefly and put in bread pan to rise 40 minutes or so
  • bake at 350 half hour or so, you will notice when top is nice and golden brown
  • tip out of pan and cool on cooling rack
